Yankees Fall Under .500 as Offensive Struggles Continue

Joe Girardi conceded recently that there was not much he could do to rouse the Yankees’ often-lifeless offense. Girardi believes he must be patient and hope that his veteran hitters, who have a record of success, will soon start hitting because big changes to the lineup are unlikely to make much difference.

For better or for worse, this is the offense the Yankees are likely to have for the rest of the season.

While several of his slumping sluggers, notably Brian McCann and Carlos Beltran, had productive days at the plate Wednesday, the team could not overcome its overall offensive lethargy in a 6-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays at Yankee Stadium….
