The champ may have met his match – reading.
Power 105 disc jockey Charlamagne Tha God played a humiliating recording on the air Friday morning of boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. struggling with a few simple sentences.
The 37-year-old fighter with a 46-0 record sounds defeated trying to read a “drop” used in between radio segments on WWPR (105.1 FM).
“I’m Floyd Mayweather,” he says before stumbling for minutes through the rest of the promo that’s supposed to last about 10 seconds. The phrase “movement to support hiring vets” proves particularly vexing.
The other DJs on Power 105’s “The Breakfast Club” were reluctant to embarrass the wealthy welterweight in such harsh fashion.
“Shut the hell up! I don’t give a damn!” said Charlamagne, ignoring his fellow DJs’ concern.
Twitter quickly exploded in Mayweather mockery.
“I bet Floyd hates Alphabet Soup,” one wise guy tweeted.
